Week 32

At 32 weeks Baby W is still breech. His determination to never change positions is staggering. I would much rather him be kicking my ribs then playing with them with his hands! It's bizarre how it feels to have him moving around in my innards all the time. It's gone from occasional kicks to constantly feeling all his movements and actually seeing the movement is down right crazy! I don't think I will every get use to it but I can already tell you I am going to miss it after labor and delivery!

Week 31

Hard to believe that we will have our precious son in our hands anywhere from 8 - 10 weeks from now but yet here we are! The days go by so slowly but the weeks go by in a flash it seems. Sorry for the photo... I was about 2 seconds away from going back to bed and realized I needed to post a 31 week picture before I forgot.

I went to my first childbirth class, my mom when with me since Mr. W is still out of town. This week was more of an overview of what is to come. I will say I am pretty sure I am the ONLY woman in my class who intends on not getting an epidural!

30 weeks & then some.

I am 30 weeks! What the hell!? Where did the time go!? I can't believe we are just around 10 weeks away from holding our baby boy. Feels like just last month I wrote Everything Changed with One Little Word. Like just last month that I surprised a grumpy husband at home with the fact that he was going to be someone's daddy. It's weird, it's like the days go by slow but the weeks and months go by oh so fast.

With week 30 comes a significant change in the way that I feel. Now more then ever I FEEL pregnant. Bending, squatting, laying down, standing up... All has become much for of a challenge for me, just in time for Mr. W to be out of town. And this kid is becoming more and more active, making his presence known on a constant basis. I had our monthly board meeting to attend this afternoon and through half of it he was kicking and squirming. My emotions are also in overdrive, I think with the combination of impending parenthood, the husband being out of town, work stress, and so forth I have a million more triggers that spring the tears. I still haven't really experienced "pregnancy rage" but I cry at a drop of a hat it seems and for someone that doesn't really physically show being upset... Well, let's just say that it doesn't take much to make my eyes get misty.

Sleep: I am sleeping through the night pretty comfortably. Never underestimate my love for sleep!
Best Moment Last Week? Mr. W and my day together Saturday.
Movement: Mostly in the evening. However it never fails to make him squirm if I cross my arms and rest them on my stomach.
Food Craving: Any spicy.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.
Labor signs? Nope.
Symptoms? I'm pretty much tired 24/7
Belly button in or out? Still in... barely... but it's in.
Wedding Ring on or off? Still on.
Most common emotion? Currently it's mixed cause Mr. W is out of town.

Girls Gone Child.

Anyone that knows me personally know that I have a few tattoos here and there, but when I announced I was pregnant people started asking about specific ones. I have 2 swallows on my stomach, one on each side of my belly button and just a inch or so further down I have 4 stars across my lower abdomen.

At least one every 2 weeks or so I have some snarky under the breath question asked about how those tattoos are stretching out followed by some giggling . I guess they expect me to shy away embarrassed that my swallows are the size of big bird or something. However thanks to a gallon of moisturizing my tattoos on a daily basis I haven't seen any negative effects to my tattoos. A couple people suggested that I was only posting my weekly updates with my shirt down because I was probably so ashamed of how bad they look, my stars riddled with stretch marks and the birds at maximum capacity.

The truth is... at least in my case - I haven't been gorging on whatever my heart desired and shoveling food into my mouth at alarming rates. Honestly, my appetite is a third of what it was pre-pregnancy. I crave chicken salads and tea more then anything in the world, the thought of fast food disgusts me, and I do my best to walk every single day even if that just means taking the furthest parking spot available at the mall.

I am proud of my tummy, my entire body is working overtime to make this little tiny human who I feel squirming and kicking inside of me every single day. In no way am I embarrassed about what pregnancy is doing to my body. I like to think that with smart decisions on eating habits and maintaining exercise and proper skin maintenance I have kept at bay some of the dreaded things that so many women fear. Would I be so quick to say these things if I were getting stretch marked up and my swallows did resemble nothing of what they once did? Perhaps. But today I am not afraid to show anyone my baby bump. (Note - You can't see the stars I know, rest assure they still maintain their shape and haven't really stretched at all... They were just below my waistline)

Maternity clothes

We all know I am not a fan. I have been asked a LOT about what I have worn as an alternative since I really only own one piece of actual maternity clothing which is a pair of skinny jeans.

My favorite pants are my Victoria Secrets yoga pants. I wear them pretty religiously  they are super comfortable and if you have a shirt long enough you can hide the fold over band at the top or it can give you a little extra coverage to avoid belly slips.

My favorite underwear comes from Victoria Secrets still as well. Any thing with lace instead of elastic is my best friend, and there are plenty of lace-waist panties at VS! Plus Victoria Secrets really has a bra for pretty much everyone.

Now pretty much all my tops, and by pretty much all I mean all of my tops and camis come from my favorite store on the face of the earth, Buckle. Being 6'0 foot Buckle has been one of the few stores that has ever been able to provide long enough jeans and long enough shirts for me, and when pregnancy came around it didn't change any. Now of course not everything there fits, but I just go in and it's clear that I am expecting and I ask them to bring me any shirt that is going to be long enough to cover my belly. It's my only concern. They have yet to fail me and at 7 months I can foresee most of the shirts I have purchased while pregnant will work for me up to labor and delivery and while I am working on slimming back down. In all my weekly updates, the only top that isn't from Buckle is the dress I wore at Christmas. You might say I have a wee bit of a addiction to the store.

Week 28

Goodbye second trimester, Heeeeeello third trimester. I am posting this a wee bit late, and my 28 week picture is running a little late sadly. As of today I am 28 weeks and 4 days pregnant, with just 80 days left until my due date! AAAAHHHH!! That shit cray ain't it Jay!?

So I passed my gestational diabetes test with a breeze. The range you want your results to come in at is between 60 and 120, I came in at 91. So luckily I didn't have to take the donut challenge. I also had my 7th month check up yesterday and everything is going well and perfectly. My appointments are going from monthly to bi-weekly since we are so close to having our little baby boy... which honestly still astonishes me that we are so close to welcoming our baby into this world and we are at such a crazy time in our life with a inevitable move for the husband's job and all that moving entails. Kind of feels like everything is moving at warp speed and I am doing my best just to stay sane!

How far along are you? 28 weeks and 4 days
Total weight gain? My doctor's scale is the devil compared to mine which is never as shocking as his. We are at 27lbs. according to his super not so awesome scale.
Maternity Clothes? Dang it be to all, I wear my one pair of maternity pants more and more...
Stretch Marks? Not one yet.
Sleep: I'm waking up more frequently and needing more nap times.
Best Moment Last Week? Christmas with all our family and friends.
Movement: On a regular basis and pretty constantly.
Food Craving: Chips and salsa still.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No.
Labor signs? Just a couple braxton hick pains here and there.
Symptoms? Exhaustion.
Belly button in or out? Innie that is trying to become a outtie haha
Wedding Ring on or off? On.
Most common emotion? A little overstressed currently.
Looking forward to? The weekend.... because I plan on Baby W and I getting plenty of sleep!!
