First appointment down, Several to go.

Well my first real doctor appointment didn't quite go as anticipated. There is nothing quite like the humility you learn when you have your legs in stirrups, let me tell you! The husband and I got there bright and early, the "quick" appointment actually ended up being about a 2 1/2 hour process. Unfortunately we didn't get to hear the heartbeat, they said it is common this early.

Based on the fact that I know all the details of my last go around with Aunt Flo my doctor confirmed my due date of March 25, 2013 and that I am 10 weeks (and 4 days today). And everything checked out on the up and up. Then after the fun stuff the doctor came in and said "Let's talk about pregnancy!" which ended up being about a half hour discussion. Oh the joys of maternity let me tell you! Regardless, though despite all the things I have to "look forward to" I am getting more and more excited. I will be honest though I was super bummed we didn't hear the heartbeat. I guess I feel it would have just been reassuring because not hearing it put a pebble of worry and doubt into my head that I can't quite seem to shake.

Then yesterday evening I headed to my favorite store and started shopping for stretching long dress shirts and t-shirts. I promise to try my hardest not to end up in maternity clothes!!! This is my greatest fear:

See. Strikes fear into your heart too doesn't it?

So after our visit and my paranoia I bought a fetal heart monitor online after researching brands and reviews. I settled on the Sonoline B fetal heart monitor - Found it on eBay and with shipping and everything it ran me about $57 or so. Hopefully I get it quickly so I can start trying to find the heartbeat at home.

Otherwise I have to wait till September 13th for my sonogram and at that point I will be 12 weeks and 3 days which also means I am nearing the end up of my first trimester. Yay! So happy about that because from what I have read and been told I will be getting my energy back come the second trimester. *Happy Dance*

Tonight I will post my 10 week picture so stay tune for an update!

Ideally I will get better at this.

Eek! It has been a WEEK since I blogged. Sorry, sorry, sorry. This really is something I am going to have to adjust to. I didn't do a week 9 board, well I made one, but I never took a picture. That's cool though I really hadn't intended to start till week 10 anyways. So this week I will be posting a new board - I'll draw it up tonight probably.

We are at 10 weeks today. Crazy to think that a month ago Baby W was the size of a grain of rice and now Baby W is the size of a kumquat (Yeah Google it cause I didn't know what it was either). Luckily a lot of my belly in Week 8 was bloating (THANK GOD!) but still, I definitely can't suck it in anymore and my ribs are slowly but surely disappearing. I had lost weight but I am now about 1 1/2 pounds more then I was in July. I am hoping I can postpone most of my weight gain till later on in the pregnancy! Fingers crossed.

Probably the most noticeable change is my sleeping. I HAVE to get up at least once a night to go to the bathroom. I am also trying to train my body to sleep on it's left side which isn't really working. My husband and I switched sides on the bed so that when I get the body pillow to hopefully help me stay on my left side we won't have a big pillow separating us.And even though I am getting plenty of sleep I don't feel like it. I am SO exhausted all the time, it's making work pretty difficult. I have been told that my energy will come back in the second trimester so believe you me I am counting down the days!

In other news I have my history appointment with a nurse at my OB GYN office tomorrow and then my appointment with my actual OB GYN on Thursday with Mr. W in the morning. So we are super excited but would appreciates your prayers that everything is perfect with our little cupcake.

That is all for now. I will try to get my week10 chalkboard up by Wednesday!

Hello Week 8, Goodbye Slacks

Well our cupcake is the size of a kidney bean this week. Crazy to think that something so small has come around and jacked up my body this much already! Don't get me wrong I know it is completely worth it but wowza, I was unprepared.

What I wasn't expecting this week was the addition of my bump. Yes at 8 weeks I am most certainly showing... WAY earlier then I had expected. All my friends suggested my bump would start closer to the second trimester around the 12-14th week and I was preparing for that... but noooo cupcake wanted to make it's presence known much sooner apparently. Looks like I am doing some bigger clothes shopping earlier then I had intended.

(I apologize for my appearance. No makeup on or anything, was getting ready for bed)

How far along? 8 Weeks
Total weight gain: -3 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope, I can wear most my normal clothes except my high waisted things.
Stretch marks? no
Sleep: I am trying to train myself to sleep on my left side.
Best moment this week: Finding out my OBGYN won't be a fortune!

Miss Anything? soda. Lordy how I miss my soda!
Movement: I've got quite awhile before that!
Food cravings: Soup.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Certain smells get to me, like Rosa's Cafe but it doesn't keep me from eating it
Gender: Check back in ehhh... 8 weeks or so.

Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: A growing belly WAY ahead of schedule apparently
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: so very happy
Looking forward to: Our doctor appointment at the end of the month!!!

This Ain't No Etch-A-Sketch - Week 6

That's one doodle that can't be undid homeskillet.

Well I am nearing the end of week #6 which is super crazy to think about. We have such a long road ahead of us. I've known about this little being growing inside of me for 3 weeks now, which if I hadn't taken a test by now the random bouts of nausea and morning sickness would have given it away this week!

I have seen some cute pregnancy trackers and I have decided to embrace it and do one myself and blog weekly. I made the chalkboard early this week, I need a better frame but it serves it's purpose for now just fine regardless. I made a couple different ones but I follow one blogger who did one that was absolutely adorable so I copied it pretty closely.

I have been pretty careful even on here to not disclose my name or anything just in case it was seen because we weren't quite ready to make it public. After 3 long weeks of keeping it under wraps, making excuses, or flat out lying we decided to go ahead and let the world know.

So without further ado... Brace yourself for Baby W!
