To my Dearest Husband

Devin,

This time last year we were hours away from pulling off a pretty secret affair that only a few family and friends were aware of. I still don't quite know how I managed to keep it pretty much under wraps with my track history of secrets, but some how we kept it quiet. I found the perfect little white dress weeks earlier with some blue suede heels... I had worked on a button bouquet for weeks on end and it all led up to me curled up on the couch anticipating the next day. Although we intend to celebrate June 7th as our wedding anniversary, October 31st will always hold a dear memory for me as we gathered in a small court house with our parents, siblings, and some close friends and officially exchanged vows to become man and wife.

I wanted to take a minute and thank you for the best year of my life, from marrying me, to our amazing trip to Jamaica, to giving me the greatest blessing yet... the opportunity to be a mother. There is no one in this world I would rather spend my life with. I feel so fortunate to have married my best friend. You're such an amazing individual and I will follow you to the ends of the earth. The life you have given me is more then I could ever ask for and I feel so overwhelmingly blessed, happy, and thankful to call you my husband. I don't know what I did to deserve so much.

I am so excited to start this new chapter in our life, the best part of this whole experience is knowing I get to see you be a dad and how amazing it is going to be, that it will just be me and my boys. So here is to the last year and the lifetime to go hand in hand. I love you, I love you, I love you.

Week 19!

Holy mackerel! It's crazy to think that next week I will be all excited to be halfway through this pregnancy. Last week was crazy with all the news and such, and this week I feel is going to be an emotional one for me. My boss of 5 years has moved on to (much) greener pastures and took a position in Florida. Thanks to these hormones of mine her leaving has hit me much harder then I had thought it would. So this week I have to accept some change in my life rather I want to or not.

Halloween parties were this past weekend, and being this is my last kid free Halloween we decided to go to a party. I have to say it's totally different being all preggers and having jello shots and beer pong surrounding you. We had fun all the same. My mom did my face/stomach painting as well as Mr. W's face. I was a cat and I had my mom draw a fish bowl on my tummy. We only made it to about 12:00 and by then I was getting sleepy and restless so we called it a night, but E for effort and trying!

I started looking for a small part time job to pick up on the evenings during the work week here and there and on the weekend... Just taking an extra step in saving for when our little boy gets here. Anyways... here is what you really came for.

Ultrasound #2

We had our second ultrasound this morning, so much has changed since 2 months ago let me tell you! My OB GYN sends all his clients to a high risk doctor for our second and third sonograms out of the three we get during pregnancy. So the husband and I were off to see a high risk doctor this morning. Luckily the wait wasn't too long. The scale was depressing. They had to make 2 attempts to get accurate blood pressure and then it was off to the patient room. Our tech came in with a student and that is when the real fun started. We got to see little Baby W who didn't look so much like a little Skelator anymore. We saw limbs, the heart, the head, although the tech had a very difficult time trying to get a shot of the kid's face, little Baby W was not a willing participant in this ultrasound. Face down and curled up in a ball, legs clamped close not giving a money shot or anything. about 15 minutes in she froze the screen and moved the cursor on the screen. "See that right there? It's a boy." luckily she screen captured because it was only visible for a second, she picked up on it a couple more times as well. She gave up with the face and said maybe the doctor would have better luck and maybe he would get a better capture about the baby's gender.
Dr.B was super nice, automatically made both Mr. W and I feel real comfortable. He took out the ultrasound wand and got to work. This time Baby W was deciding to make the heart difficult to see, but at the same time finally moved the hands and arms out of the way of the face so we could see the little nose and mouth. Then the doctor started trying to verify gender. Again he screen captures and says he is pretty sure that is a boy. After finishing he stated he wanted me back in in 4 weeks to do another ultrasound because he wasn't completely happy with the way this one turned out and he wanted to verify the sex which he said at this point he said it was 90 to 10 odds it was a boy, but that there was a lot of umbilical cord floating around in that area so he wanted to make sure, and he wanted another shot at the heart. So we will be back late November for yet another ultrasound.
In the mean time we have announced that we are having a handsome baby boy!

Pinterest Addiction

I admit. I have a problem. I am addicted to Pinterest, and we aren't talking a little addiction. I straight up need rehab for it. I find myself on the site every day - of coursing my pinning trend seems to have changed a bit - being that the only two boards I pin on anymore is my baby board and my culinary board. I am not shy to say that I am pretty sure I have the most epic and amazing culinary board this side of Tallahassee! Yet my baby board is catching up in awesomeness. I started looking at cribs last weekend, and after Thursday I feel like I will have a more defined direction that we want to go.

We have yet to start working on the nursery, our spare bedroom is a disaster zone. When we moved into our apartment 2 years ago that was our random stuff with no place to go room, then when we got a new bed set it was the room for our old mattresses  when we replaced our makeshift dresser with a actual dresser it met it's fate in the spare bedroom as well. Now you can barely open the door there is so much stuff just piled up inside. I intend to make my first dent this coming Saturday - even if we don't end up living in this apartment come baby time it would be nice to have a clean empty room to store our baby stuff that we are slowly collecting and maybe giving our cat Axel the clear point that the bassinet and the car seat are not his personal beds.
However I doubt that will do it with his apparent love for these new house items.

Week 18!

Week 18 is upon us! So hard to believe we are rounding the corner of being half way done with this adventure and preparing to start a whole new chapter but here we sit just a couple weeks shy of our half way point. I am so excited for Thursday cause we will get to see the little one in the "growth" ultrasound and hopefully, if he/she is willing to participate we will find out if we are having a rugged little boy or a sweet little girl.

I *think* I've started feeling baby randomly since Friday, just random jabs or swirly feelings in my stomach for brief moments every now and then. I can officially NOT sleep on my back anymore, even if I was allowed to, the pressure on my tailbone injury is so severe it sends shooting pain up my back when I even attempt to lay on my back for even just a moment. So sleeping on my side is becoming the norm and although I wake up with a slight limp I walk it off by the time I am heading off to work. I can only imagine how much more difficult it will be in the coming weeks!

How far along? 18 weeks

Partying Vs. Pregnancy

17 weeks {and 1 day}

Well hello 17 weeks! Is it just me or is this pregnancy going super fast!? I'm really frustrated that I haven't replaced my chalk board yet and I am already close to being halfway done. But I fully intend on having a new board come gender announcement time!!! Now everyone these days seems to be having gender reveal parties, and I have been asked God only knows how many times, if I am going to have one. The answer is NO. Honestly I think that gender reveal parties are a little extreme and overboard. Granted we will find a cute way to disclose the gender to our close family and friends... but a party!? Seriously? Since when did this become a thing!? Its as absurd to be as the "push present" - oh and if you haven't heard of a push present let me enlighten you... It is a gift your husband is suppose to give you for going through labor and delivery - Weird cause I always thought your BABY is your push present? Don't get me wrong if your significant other wants to give you a small token that is a sweet gesture... but to EXPECT a push present. Come on.

Back to the gender... we are just 9 days away from finding out if we are having a little girl made of sugar & spice && everything nice, or a little boy made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails. Votes are overwhelmingly in the boy favor. There are a few of us team Pink though. Mr. W and I have a bet going, because he is certain that he can't make girls and I think it's a girl, loser takes the other to dinner. So I am open to suggestions for where he should take me to dinner in 9 days! *wink*

Miss Anything? Caffeine lately! With waking up uncomfortable on my sides a lot I could sure use it. Oh and sushi... I've been having spicy California rolls with imitation crab leg as substitute though.
Movement: A little... Pretty sure. Kinda feels swirly and like a popcorn kernel pops in my tummy!
Food cravings: Nope.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not eating! I left the house this morning and felt like I was going to throw up my stomach was so empty.

Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: My tummy is super itchy.

16 Weeks!

Well I had my 4 month doctor appointment with my OB GYN this morning. All checked out perfectly. Baby W's heartbeat was super loud and clear today, going at 140 beats per minute. I have to say you never really get use to hearing a second heartbeat inside your body. The doctor was happy with my weight gain and gave reassurance that everything was going according to schedule. We discussed the blood tests to test for downs syndrome and I decided against it. My main reasoning being that this test isn't definite and I didn't want to get a high risk result and start freaking out - Regardless we are having this little one so I would rather not be racked with worry for the next few months as I start rounding the corner of being half way done with this pregnancy.

The next sonogram was scheduled for October 25th, just 6 days shy of (one of our) anniversaries. My doctor always has the 18-20 week sono and the 30 week sono done at a high risk doctor office so we will be going and visiting a different facility for this appointment. We will get to find out of this is a little Miss or a little Mr in just 2 weeks! How crazy is that!!??

15 weeks!

Yeah so... I haven't posted in a minute. Sorry bout that. I've been crazy busy, and when I am not busy I am exhausted. We are currently 15 weeks preggers with baby #1, still no gender determined but maybe by the end of October we know what our little cupcake will be. Today is rough because I am pretty sure I am getting sick, the husband had good ol' influenza this past weekend and I rushed to go get a flu shot but that probably came a little too late to prevent sickness and this morning I woke up with a super sore throat and congested. Oh boy. So I am buckling down the hatches and hoping I can make a speedy recovery. Fingers crossed!
